Our Statement of Faith
Our statement of faith is based upon the foundational truths found in God's Word.
The Bible
The Bible is the inspired Word of God, absolutely without error, and the only infallible rule of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
God
God's revelation of Himself in the Bible shows Him to exist as one God in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit (John 1:1-3, John 10:30,
John 14:9, Colossians 1:15-17).
John 14:9, Colossians 1:15-17).
Jesus
The Lord Jesus Christ was born of a virgin, He led a sinless life, He bore our sins, sicknesses and afflictions, He bodily resurrected from the dead and ascended to the right hand of the Father, and this same Jesus will return again to earth (Matthew 1:18-23, Hebrews 4:15, 1 Peter 2:24,
1 Corinthians 15:12-14, Acts 2:32-36, Romans 8:34, John 14:2-3, 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18).
1 Corinthians 15:12-14, Acts 2:32-36, Romans 8:34, John 14:2-3, 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18).
Salvation
All people are lost apart from the saving grace of Jesus Christ, and sin is cleansed and salvation is received only through personal repentance and faith in the atoning blood of Jesus Christ
(Romans 10:9-10, Titus 3:5-7, Acts 4:12, Acts 16:30).
(Romans 10:9-10, Titus 3:5-7, Acts 4:12, Acts 16:30).
Holy Spirit
The Baptism in the Holy Spirit and the operation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:4-8,
Acts 8:14-17, Acts 19:1-7, Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11).
Acts 8:14-17, Acts 19:1-7, Romans 12:6-8, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11).
Ordinances of the Church
Communion. Taking the bread and wine as remembering the sacrifice Jesus gave of His Blood and Body on the Cross (1 Corinthians 11:23-26).
Water Baptism. By immersion in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and in the name of Jesus (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16, Romans 6:4-8).
Water Baptism. By immersion in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and in the name of Jesus (Matthew 28:19, Mark 16:16, Romans 6:4-8).
Marriage
The biblical definition of marriage as a covenant between one (natural-born) man and one (natural-born) woman as clearly conveyed in scripture where Jesus refers to the fact that “He which made them at the beginning made them male and female.” (Matthew 19:4-6).
